#Crochet #Crafts

Anyone else buried in partially started but never finished crochet projects? I have a rather large number of them started, and now, I would guess, I'm going to have a difficult time matching yard colors. I'll have to search online.

I love to made afghans. I do have a ton of pattern books that I've looked at when I got them and not picked up since.

This week's goal is to organize the pattern books and afghans I have started. Then hopefully move on to also sorting my yarn. If not, the yarn and deciding on a project to start will be next week. It's almost a have to with the new home. I really want my craft area to be manageable. Especially since I started a blanket that was to be an xmas gift this year and it's not even 1/4 of the way finished ~ a year later :|

What's everyone working on this week?

Cross Stitch #CrossStitch #crafts

It's been awhile since I've picked up any cross stitch. I did purchases some cloth several years ago and it's remained wrapped up and safe in a huge craft box. I do have several cross stitch books and other pattern pamphlets or whatever you want to call them. I also have picked up a few issues over the last few years of the magazine.

I suppose this week is searching to see if I have everything I need to even cross stitch anymore. And to create a list of items I may need to pick up.

What are you working on?

So, I have homeschooled for a large number of years. Once the kiddos reach a certain age, I allow them to make the choice ~ Do they continue their education at home or do they go to school outside of our home? I wasn't going to touch on this on the blog, however, a personal friend of mine that is local has asked me to share it somewhere where she can easily reference it. Blogs are just that ~ kind of an online journal where we can track our thoughts.

So, for those interested, I'll be having some homeschol stuff appear here as well :-)

Grandma's Scrapbasket #quilting

Here's another interesting site. Grandma's Scrapbasket has a lot of great looking fabric as well as several quilter's club options. What I found was really neat about this site, if you scroll to the bottom of the quilter's club link, you'll see there's an option for $30 a year. Each month you get ten 4X4 swatches so that you can see and feel them. You also get the newsletter (which you can sign up for without the swatch option as well.

Fat Quarter Shop #quilting

Since the goodies are baking away in the oven and the kids are happy wit their first gifts of the season, I am taking a little moment to do some craft searches.

For those that quilt, have you been there? Fat Quarter Shop is like the Toys R Us of fabric. I've shopped in tons of other places and ran across this site completely by accident last night. I can't even begin to tell you how many bundles I looked at and made a mental note on what I'd like to do with them. I also placed notifications on a lot of "coming soon" items.

Has anyone tried any of the quilter's monthly clubs? They sound like fun, but they aren't exactly cheap. So, I'd love to know anyone's experience with them. And how did you decide which to choose?

Any experience on the block of the month clubs?

Merry Christmas!

#Quilter #Quotes

A few of my favorites that I've picked up over the years. Do you have a favorite?

Good friends are like Quilts. They age with you, yet never lose their warmth.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!
Friends are like fabric - you can never have enough!
A bed without a quilt is like a sky without stars.
I love quilting and have plenty of material witnesses.
In the crazy quilt of life, I'm glad you're in my block of friends.
Old quilters never die, they just go to pieces.
Quilters affect eternity; they can never tell where their influence stops.

and my favorite ~~
Our lives are like quilts - bits and pieces, joy and sorrow, stitched with love

About My Blog ~ I'm always looking for kid friendly products. I'll be featuring reviews of many children and teen items during 2014. I'm moving into a brand new home and taking nothing with me. I'll be sharing my purchasing expenses, trial and error, decorating tips and finds and more throughout the year. I'm all about a happy family and home. My goal is to share my experiences with my readers. You'll find reviews, DIY Projects, baking from scratch, cooking from scratch, recipes, decorating, crafts, and so much more here. Also in 2014, I'll be opening my own shop (soaps, candles, cleaning supplies and more).

About Me ~ I've been a stay at home mom for over 10 years. I love my children, my home, and searching out the inner peace that being a mom and homemaker allows for. Previously, I home schooled (including to one special needs child). I love crafts, DIY, home products, natural items, and so one. I seem to always be finding something new to try out or some new adventure to lead everyone on. (My latest is Christmas 2014: (1) My children will all hand make personal gifts for one another ~ Gifts from the Heart (2) My children (and hopefully the school they go to) will be lead by me in creating at least TWO Christmas cards each for soldiers.)
